Phases of the solar eclipse are 1. Partial solar eclipse - It occurs when Sun and Moon are not exactly in line and only a part of Sun can be seen. 2. The total solar eclipse occurs when Sun is totally blocked by the moon.

A total solar eclipse occurs when the Moon completely covers the Sun's disk.

Partial solar eclipse-
