Hi, I am new to Wordpress and want to create a website for a doctor, similar to Lifeforce. What theme would work best for this kind of content? Each theme description is very similar "responsive website, create custom layouts" etc. How do I figure out which theme to select for my requirement? Has anyone used this theme Elegantthemes. It's a paid one in which it is easy to edit, similar to working in Photoshop. Are there any free themes which have this feature?

Before you select any WordPress theme for your website, list out all the requirements that you need; from layout to functions. Once you set requirements and goals, it would be easy to select best themes. Make sure that you are buying the latest updated theme, so it can integrate with the updated Wordpress, without any issues. Some extra points to check:
1. Check which plugins are you getting at the time of purchase.
2. Do they come up with a lifetime validity or for short period validity?
3. Do you need to pay an extra amount for theme or plugin upgradation?
4. Check whether the theme is light and popular in the relevant category.
5. Do read the reviews about the themes.

There are many free themes available, but then they have a limitations to edit. Even if you know wordpress it is always advisable to choose paid one from the sites like Themeforest.net which have a good databases for theme. 3 main reasons of why you can opt to purchase the theme from there are:

Irrespective of which theme you use, You should know how to set up the site in terms post types/categories/taxonomy and the number of pages and features you need. It will be very difficult to find a theme that can cater to all your requirements. At some time point you will need to know html/css/php to be able to make some customization.
