If you can definitely do not like front-end work, it is possible to find a job with only JavaScript, but it's an unusual path. You will likely have an easier time finding a role if you learn a different server-side language like Nodejs Python Golang as well as JavaScript.

Javascript is client side scripting language. It is not a standalone language, even integrated with html. So to begin as js developer you have to learn html5 and css3 first. And bit knowledge of jquery. Furthermore you have deep ocean to explore. :-)
