Since the Essay writing task demands you to write 250+ words you should concentrate more amount of time on it. So, it is justified to spend 40 min on Essay writing and 20 mins on Report writing. read less

Give due weight age to each task, according to the optimum number of words. The suggested approach is 20 minutes and 40 minutes.

Academic writing has two sections. Task 1 and Task 2. For Task 1 you have to write min 150 words and for task 2, min of 250 words. Divide your 60 minutes time accordingly. I suggest, you give 20 minutes for ask 1 and 40 minutes for task 2.
