M = 3000 kg g = 9.8 m/s² T = 33000 a = ? Ma = Mg - T 3000 * a = 3000 * 9.8 - 33000 3000a = 29400 - 33000 3000a = - 3600 a = - 1.2 m/s².

M = 3000 kg, g = 9.8 m/s ,T = 33000 a = ? Ma = Mg - T 3000 * a = 3000 * 9.8 - 33000 3000a = 29400 - 33000 3000a = - 3600 a = - 1.2 m/s Therefore, the elevator will move up with an acceleration of 1.2 m/s.

Equate F (net) = ma Then T - mg = ma (assume all vectors in + Y direction as positive) 33000 - 3000 X 9.8 = 3000 a a = 1.2 m/s² This essentially means that the net force on the elevator is making it move up with an acceleration of 1.2 m/s² See my lecture notes for...

Equate F (net) = ma

Then    T - mg = ma   (assume all vectors in + Y direction as positive)

           33000 - 3000 X 9.8 = 3000 a

           a = 1.2 m/s²

This essentially means that the net force on the elevator is making it move up with an acceleration of 1.2 m/s²

33000-g.3000 = a.3000 With usual meaning of symbols. a negative means movement is downward & vice versa.

Mg - T = Ma 3000 * 9.8 - 33000 = 3000* a 29400 - 33000 = 3000 * a -3600/3000 = a a = - 1.2 m/s2

Given, Weight, M = 3000kg Tension, T = 33000N g = 9.8m/s^2 a= ? We have, Mg - T = Ma ie, (3000*9.8) - 33000 = 3000 * a a = ((3000*9.8) - 33000)/3000 = -1.2m/s^2 therefore the elevator is moving up with an acceleration of 1.2m/s^2

A railway carriage of mass 9000 kg moving with a speed of 36 kmph collides with stationary carriage of the same mass. After the collision, the carriages get coupled and moved together. What is their common speed after collision? What type of collision is this?
The objects move together after the collision and have a common velocity. So it's a perfectly inelastic collision. To find the velocity we use Law of conservation of linear momentum. Given velocity v1=...

Why is only the speed of light constant in all frames of reference?

It is a fundamental postulate of Einstein's particular theory of relativity. We found no evidence opposing this until now. It is confirmed later in many experiments.
